The building, now known as The Outpost, has stood since 1980, housing various businesses over the years within its log cabin structure. This property holds hundreds of happy memories cherished by families who've had the chance to experience the several businesses it has hosted. However, all the businesses that have had the opportunity to set up shop in this building have shared a few things in common: they've been family-owned and community-based, adding to the rich tapestry of memories woven within The Outpost's walls. 

The Outpost Scoop Shoppe opened its doors for its first season in May of 2024. The inspiration behind this venture stems from a deep love for community involvement and, of course, everyone's favorite treat – ice cream. The Decrow family, who acquired The Outpost in January of 2023, has dedicated their efforts to bring this building and property back to life, transforming it into a warm, family-centered attraction for the town of Standish and surrounding communities to enjoy.
